Approval
of Minutes of August 1, 2007
The
minutes of the meeting of August 1, 2007 were approved as submitted.
Land
Protection:
Martin
parcels.
Nancy reported that appraisal information has been received on the two
parcels, but still deciding on whether both are to be put under
conservation easement this year or split between this year and next.
Discussion
about the former Nichols property near Bear Pond and its status for
auction by the present owner.
Natural
Resources Inventory (NRI)
Recreation
resources has been completed and given to the Forest Society for
digitizing.
Scenic
resources - Discussed methodology for evaluating scenic viewpoints and
roads. Chris is waiting for the roads map for the town to be produced
by SPNHF.
Jim
described an effort to apply for Scenic and Cultural Byways Program
status for Route 103 from Davisville up through the village. This
would be as a part of the Currier & Ives Trail which is now a part
of the statewide system. Central NH Regional Planning Commission is
assisting this application process.
Newpaper
Article
Discussed
several ideas for an article in the next issue. Source water
protection was one topic offered. Future articles that focus on global
warming was also mentioned. Chris will do an article on energy
efficient appliances, particularly her new refrigerator.

Board
Warner
Aggregates - Discussed concern of pit
storing volume of wood ash that is used with other materials on site
to create loam for sale.”
Wagner
subdivision - Apparently no DES alteration of terrain permit has yet
been issued.
Lovejoy
subdivision - Before ZBA for variances from Warner’s Zoning
Ordinance in order not to conform with the newly enacted provisions
regarding major subdivisions. Concerns expressed that this was the
first case to come before the Town under the new regulations and that
if the proposal is so unworkable on this portion of the property, then
perhaps it ought not to be developed. Several members indicated an
interest in attending the hearing next Wednesday.
Discussed
several other possible State environmental laws violations. Chris will
check in with DES to see if inspections are warranted.
Peg will
check with DES on a property off Morse Loop concerning possible septic
system permit.
New
Business
WCC
approved expenditure of $200 for annual dues to the NH Association of
Conservation Commissions.
Also
approved the same budget for 2008 as was approved for the Commission
for 2007 - $1,101.
Communications
Received
wetlands permit applications from the NHDOT for work on I89. Sarah
will review.
Notice
of a workshop, sponsored by Ausbon Sargent on October 27 on land
conservation and development issues. Jim will coordinate getting a
check cut for members wishing to attend.
Law
Lecture Series notice received for three lectures this fall. Again Jim
will coordinate a list of interested members.
Chris
asked of the possibility of having a WCC email address established.
Other boards apparently have them. Jim will check into it.
