Meeting Minutes
February 21, 2006

 

Meeting opened at 6:00 p.m.

In attendance: Selectman Wayne Eigabroadt – Chairman, Selectman David E. Hartman and Selectman Richard A. Cook

The Selectmen signed the annual Kearsarge Elderly Housing Agreement in Lieu of Taxes. The TA will also forward a financial statement to Kearsarge Elderly for filing.

The Selectmen signed the annual in-kind donation verification for the preschool.

Town Administrators Report:

DeMoulas – Paperwork was received today for the payment of the rebate checks as agreed upon. Ms. Buono will request that these checks be drawn up and sent to Atty. Upton.

Old Rte. 114 – Certified letters were mailed out to the abutters of Tax Map 4 Lots 3 & 3-1 for the discontinuation of Old Rte. 114 as necessary for such a discontinuation. A copy of the area to be discontinued was also included with the letter.

Roof Damage – There is some damage to the roof at the Old Graded School as well as the Fire Station as a result of the storm on Friday. Ed Mical is assessing the damage and will report back once he has the scope of work that needs to be done and an estimate on the repairs.

Mill Street – The Water District Commissioners cannot attend a meeting with residents on March 7th and have requested a later date. The meeting has been rescheduled for March 9th @ 7:00 p.m. Also, Allan Brown dropped off a set of plans for this project.

Area Selectmen’s Meeting – We have approximately 9 Selectmen who will be attending the March 1st Joint Board meeting. The Selectmen recommend inviting a representative from both KARMA and the School Board for final questions. Chairman Eigabroadt will Chair the meeting, the TA will create an agenda.

Selectman Cook made the motion to approve meeting minutes and non-public minutes dated January 31, and February 7, 2006 meeting minutes as amended. Selectman Hartman seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed.

Selectman Hartman noted that the Town’s tonnage to the Co-op is up by 5.3%; regionally, it is a .4 % increase. These figures fluctuate month to month. Selectman Hartman and the TA will be attending a workshop on Transfer Station operation and hazardous waste management on April 5th.

Cemetery Trustees approved the removal of some pine trees on the back of Gore Cemetery.
