TOWN OF WARNER MAY 22, 2001 Chairman Brayshaw was absent due to a vacation. Selectman O’Connor opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Selectman Mical was present along with members of the public. Recording Secretary is Mary Whalen. The first appointment was with Sarah Allen who came to speak to the Selectmen on behalf of a number of parents and the current staff of the Co-operative Kindergartens who are working on putting a preschool program together. Marie Wolf and Susan Gleason who represent James House who work with disabled children and would also be interested in working with the preschool to have a number of three and four year old children attend, also came to speak with the Selectmen. Sarah asked the Selectmen to consider the use of the current kindergarten room at the Old Graded School to be used for the proposed preschool. After a lengthy discussion and receiving public comment, the Selectmen will have a decision on the availability of the room by June 11, 2201. The next appointment was with Fran Brayshaw who had questions about the assessment of a commercial property located on Waterloo Road, Map 36 lot 4 and 5 that were recently merged. Mrs. Brayshaw received a letter from the Assessing Clerk informing of an increase in the property value. Mrs. Brayshaw asked about the comparisons used in making the assessment. The Assessing Clerk, Martha Mical was then asked by the Selectmen to explain the comparisons that were made in determining the assessment. In listening to the explanation, all questions were answered. Brian Erickson met with the Selectmen to discuss upgrading a Class 6 road. Discussion followed. The Selectmen will have an answer for Mr. Erickson at the June 5 Selectmen’s meeting. Mr. Ken Klinedinst met with the Selectmen to discuss the posting of meetings and Revised Statutes Annotated (RSA’s). Discussion followed about the interview process of the appointments of vacant boards and inadequate notice of the interviews. The May 29, 2001 Selectmen’s meeting is canceled until June 5, 2001. Public comments were taken at this time. Judy Rogers (Town Clerk) informed the Selectmen that the software company that she uses has changed hands. The service that Judy receives has not changed. Also the UCC’s (Universal Commercial Code) will no longer be filed at the Town Clerk’s office, but will be filed in a general state office. The Selectmen signed the following: 2 abatement letters The Selectmen reviewed the May 15, 2001 minutes. Selectman O’Connor made a motion to approve the May 15 minutes. Selectman Mical seconded the motion. Motion Carried.
