BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING June 6, 2000 Minutes
The meeting was opened at 6:35 PM. All Selectmen were present. Ed Mical came to ask the Board for some direction on whether they wished to have light fixtures fixed at the Cap Building considering that they are planning on having the whole building refitted with new light fixtures. The Selectmen directed him to not replace the broken fixtures. Selectmen O’ Connor will go through the building with Mr. Mical on Friday morning. While on the subject of the Cap Building Selectmen O’Connor reported that he and Martha had gone to the Cap Building with Johnson and Dix plus Pickman and Son to see about the replacement of the boiler and putting more zones in the building. Fuel Bids for 2000-2001 were opened and awarded. The bid for propane went to Kearsarge Propane at 85.9 cents a gallon and the fuel oil bid went to Kearsarge Heating Oil at 89.7 cents a gallon. Selectman Brayshaw stated that he had called Peter Martin about the junk cars around the building and to see if they were any closer to being ready to sell the property. Mr. Martin did return his call. He has someone to buy two of the cars and they should be gone next week. He also stated that they have just been or are about to go to court to get permission to sell the property and would be back in touch with the Selectmen hopefully in about 3 weeks. It had been pointed out to Martha that the carpet downstairs needs cleaning. The Board discussed what it cost the last time. It was decided that Mr. Pinkham would be hired to do the job with his own machine. There were several assessments that were discussed by the Board so that all of the Board was aware of what is going on with each property. The Board then went on to discuss evaluations. The Board asked Mr. Arnold if he would be willing to give them input into the creation of the evaluation forms. He will work with them on the 13th at their work session at 6pm. He will also give them input on what questions should be asked at the interview with the candidate for the Board of Selectmen Secretary. The Selectmen will interview the applicant for secretary on June 20th at 6pm in non-public session. The Board asked to reschedule Davey Tree for the 20th instead of the 27th. Selectman Brayshaw stated he would write up the policy on class 6 roads. Selectman Nogues will write up the policy for health insurance coverage and the build permit fee schedule needs to be written up for the policy book. Selectman O’Connor discussed with the Board the Budget Committee meeting of June 1. The Budget Committee needs to have the Capital Improvement Plan much earlier then they have received it in the past so that they can discuss budgets of the future. The Budget Committee will be starting to work on Budget 2001 in September. The Board also reviewed the month end budget for May. Selectman Brayshaw stated he would like to see more participation by the Board of Selectmen at meetings and events. The Board approved Matt Courser being paid the same as last year for the care of the beach. The Selectmen were brought up to date on the septic question that had been raised on Iron Kettle Rd. The Health Officer has gone to both properties one does have a septic system and is fine, the other property does not have a septic system and can not be lived in year round. The owner has 7 days to remove the people from the property. If this does not happen the Health Officer and Police will have the people removed. The Agreement for On Call Rescue Personal was signed by the Selectmen. The Board approved the minutes of May 16th and 30th . The Board made the motion to go into Non-public session under RSA 91:3 The motion was made by Selectman O’ Connor to continue the meeting until Thursday at 7PM it was seconded by Selectman Brayshaw and the motion carried. |
