BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING June 20, 2000 Minutes The meeting was opened at 6:35PM by Selectman Nogues, Selectman O'Connor was present, Selectman Brayshaw was absent. Selectman Nogues made the motion to go into non-public session under RSA 91-A:3, personnel. The motion was seconded by Selectman O'Connor. The meeting was re-opened to the public at 7:10 PM . Janice Loz came to see the Board for approval of a home occupation permit. She has a web-site design business. Ms. Loz did state that no customers would be coming to the property since she goes to them. Selectman O'Connor made the motion to approve the home occupation permit, Selectman Nogues seconded and the motion carried. She will now go before the planning board for review. Judy Rogers, Town Clerk, brought to the Board the list of unlicensed dogs as required by State Law. Selectman Nogues will consult with the Animal Control Officer and the Police Chief as to what approach will be taken in the process of Civil Forfeiture of the unlicensed dog. The Board asked Judy about transfer station stickers and if there was any way to cancel the stickers of people that had moved out of town. It was noted last Saturday, that at least five people that no longer live in town, were using our transfer station. The Board was presented with the summer schedule of meetings to be approved, the Board wished to make changes to the schedule therefore it was not approved. It was brought to the attention of the Board that it is anticipated we will run out of cash in September. Since tax anticipation notes take up to 8 weeks to process it was asked that they have the treasurer start the process. Selectman O'Connor asked how much money would be needed, he will check with Wendy for the numbers. The Board wished to discuss it further so no action was taken. Donna Martin came before the Selectmen about scheduling the Town Hall for aerobics during the summer. She was given permission by the Board with the following stipulations: Town business comes first if the rooms are needed for meetings. They must shut off all lights. A donation is expected to help with the floor maintenance. Selectman O'Connor made the motion to expand the hours of the maintenance man from 10 to 25 hours a week for the summer to get some of the projects at the Cap Building done. He stated that we could go as high as 32 hours per week for that time period and stay within the budget line. Selectman Nogues wished to discuss the matter with the whole Board. Selectman O'Connor withdrew the motion. Selectman O'Connor requested that Mr. Mical be allowed to purchase materials for repairs at the CAP building up to $1000. Selectman Nogues felt this should not be done at this time. Mr. Mical presented to the Board a list of safety and sanitary items that need attention at Town Hall and the CAP Building Selectman Nogues made the motion to pay the Legion $1000. for the Memorial Day activities. It was seconded by Selectman O'Connor and the motion carried. Selectman O'Connor made the motion to approve the minutes from the June 6th and 8th Selectman Meetings. It was seconded by Selectman Nogues and the motion carried. The Board signed a Current Use Release Form, an Intent to Cut, and four building permits. It was requested that decisions made by the Board of Selectmen, which affect employees or a small group of people be noticed to those individuals though a memo, or other specific means. The Board concurred that was a good idea.
