Meeting Minutes

November 25, 2003

 

In attendance:

Richard Cook, Conservation Commission Chairman, met with the Selectmen to discuss two land projects that the Conservation Commission is involved in. The first, involves Map 17 Lot 11, the owners would like to know if the Town would accept a donation of this land, from a conservation perspective; the land is in an area that has undeveloped river frontage, and it is also in the Town's aquifer, with no road frontage. There is currently a mobile home on the lot. The Selectmen asked for more information before a final decision is made. The second land project is the Eubanks easement on Cunningham Pond. The easement protects the ponds frontage, and allows two home sites. Easement requirements and conditions were discussed.

Richard Cook as the Building Inspector asked the Board if he may purchase information regarding commercial property. The Selectmen approved the purchase request.

The Selectmen discussed the Naughton property. It is toward the end of the month and the Selectmen have received another complaint regarding the parking of commercial vehicles. Mr. Naughton will be contacted to schedule an appointment to meet with the Selectmen on December 2, 2003.

The lease agreement has been reviewed by the Selectmen; changes were made and will be forwarded to the Selectmen’s secretary for correction.

The Selectmen signed a letter to the Town of Hopkinton regarding land that was purchased near the landfill.

The Selectmen will hold a work session on December 2, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. Topic: wages will be addressed.

A representative from the Town’s health insurance carrier, Health Trust, will meet with Town employees on December 4, 2003 to update personnel on their health benefits.

The Budget Committee submitted their 2004 budget request at a total cost of $1,100.00. Selectman Brayshaw made the motion to accept the Budget Committees budget as presented. Selectman Brown seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed.

Tickets for the annual Christmas preview party on December 6, 2003 will be sold at the Town Hall.

Selectman Brayshaw made the motion to approve the November 4, 2003 meeting minutes with changes. Selectman Brown seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed.

The Selectmen approved a request for pricing on signage from New Hampshire the Beautiful. The signs will be for the Transfer Station.

The Selectmen forwarded a billing statement from the Warner Historical Society. The Historical Society completed a photographic record of the Martin Building. Photo’s are on file in the Selectmen’s Office.

The Selectmen signed a request to abate the property taxes for the parcel of land that maintains the entrance to Bagley Field.

The Selectmen approved vacation time and carry-over for the Assessing Clerk. Chairman Mical abstained.

The Selectmen signed a letter to Mr. George Allie that explains that the Police Department has been notified about the request to enhance the speed enforcement on Connors Mill Road.

The Selectmen signed the Tax Equalization Forms that will be sent to the State.

The Board approved one building permit.

Selectman Brown made the motion to adjourn at 7:24 p.m. Selectman Brayshaw seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed.
