Warner Board of Selectmen
Work Session Meeting Minutes

April 26, 2005

Meeting opened at 8:30 a.m.

In attendance: Selectman Wayne Eigabroadt – Chairman, Selectman David E. Hartman and Selectman Richard A. Cook.

Recorder of the minutes is Mary Whalen.

Selectman Hartman will be attending the Concord Regional Solid Waste Cooperative meeting this evening.  Selectman Hartman will be casting a vote in favor of a five year extension option with the Wheelabrator Company to dispose of Warner’s trash.  The Coop does own an alternative site in Canterbury but the permits are not secured.  The permitting process for the Canterbury site has begun and would need to be complete by 2009.  There is hostile environment about using the Canterbury site, caution is needed by the Coop in plotting its course past 2009 (2009 is the current contract deadline with Wheelabrator), at that point there is an option to renew 5-10 years with Wheelabrator.  There is currently a majority vote to continue with Wheelabrator.  Selectman Hartman asked the Board for their support in voting in favor of continuing with Wheelabrator and highly recommends staying with the Coop.  The Board supports Selectman Hartman’s recommendation.

Department Head meetings will be changed to the second Tuesday of every month beginning on May 10, 2005 at 10:00 a.m.

The Selectmen received a request from the Maria Committee to use the parking area across from Simonds School on May 21, 2005 .  The Selectmen agreed to allow the Committee to use the area based on the surface condition.  If the area is saturated from excessive rain they will need to look for an alternative.

The Selectmen will review the items that are slated for auction.  The items are stored at the Highway Department.

Tim Wallace, Town Forester reviewed the perimeters of an easement that is on Indian Museum land in regards to an Intent to Cut that was filed.

The Selectmen reviewed comments supplied by Commerford, Nieder Perkins regarding property assessment abatements.  The Selectmen are required to agree or disagree with the property assessment adjustments.
