Work Session

Meeting opened at 9:10 a.m.

In attendance: Selectman Wayne Eigabroadt – Chairman, Selectman David E. Hartman and Selectman Richard A. Cook

Mr. Young and Mr. Cook as members of the American Legion presented a Petition to the Selectmen. To see if the Town will vote to modify the optional Veterans Tax Credit under the provisions of RSA 72:28 II by increasing the credit for qualifying property owners from $100.00 per year to $500.00 per year. Mr. Young asked that the Town place the Petition on a ballot or a warrant article at the next Town election/Town meeting.

The Selectmen met with Ms. Haley to begin moving forward in the hiring of a Town Administrator. Ms. Haley presented an advertisement for the Board to approve. The ad will be placed in the NH Sunday News and a NH seacoast Sunday paper for 2 weeks. Applications will be accepted until 8/19/05. It will also appear on the Municipal Associations web site as well as the ME, MA and VT Municipal Association website. There may also be potential candidates from previous recruitment efforts.

Ms. Haley will contact the Selectmen sometime after September 5, 2005 when she has reviewed all the submitted résumé’s. The job description and salary still need to be finalized.

Ms. Haley explained the interview process. Ms. Haley will review all applicants with the Selectmen. Thursday, October 6, 2005 is scheduled for applicant review.
