Meeting opened at 9:25 a.m.

In attendance: Selectman Wayne Eigabroadt – Chairman, Selectman David E. Hartman and Selectman Richard A. Cook

The Selectmen met to discuss payroll:

Selectman Cook presented cost impacts if there was a 1-%, 2-% or 3-% cost of living increase.

The Selectmen agreed that the following positions would not be eligible for a cost of living or merit increase; Treasurer, Deputy Tax Collector, Building Inspector, Selectmen, Welfare Overseer, Director of Emergency Management, Health Officer, Trustee of the Trust Funds, and Deputy Treasurer.

The Selectmen agreed that part-time and full time employees who are not at the top of their wage scale could be eligible for a merit increase.

Selectman Cook made the motion to implement a 1% cost of living adjustment increase for eligible employees as determined by the Board of Selectmen in 2006. Selectman Hartman seconded the motion. All were in favor. The motion passed.

The Selectmen will draft a memo to Department Heads to submit their recommendations for merit increases, an eligible list will be provided.

The Director of Public Works has recommended not refurbishing the 86 Mack, to use the truck until spring and then replace vehicle. Mr. Brown is not convinced that a new frame rail will work for the vehicle.

The Selectmen agreed that the property cards would be moved to the room located under the Town Clerk’s office. The room will remain secured once the files are moved.
