The State Primary Election Day is Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Town Hall will be open for voting from 7 AM until 7 PM. If you are unable to be present, you may submit an Absentee Ballot Request Form to obtain an Absentee Ballot. The absentee ballot request form should be delivered to the Town Clerk's office either in person, by fax to 603-456-2297, or by mail to Town Clerk, Town of Warner, PO Box 265, Warner, NH 03278.

The Town Clerk's office will be closed Tuesday, September 10, 2024 for the election.

The EDAC will be presenting an overview of the EDAC’s history and purpose, followed by a discussion of EDAC’s current and future projects.

The EDAC is promoting a review of the Warner Community Center, following a successful public survey of that building’s use and opinions about its future service to Warner. The EDAC hopes to present a warrant article concerning the future of the Warner Community Center at the March 2025 town meeting. Supporting that initiative the EDAC intends to offer tours and listening sessions beginning this September.

Additionally, the EDAC is actively pursuing new members interested in the mission: “To support the existing business community and to encourage economic growth that serves local needs, is environmentally responsible, fits aesthetically with the town’s historic architecture, and provides a net increase in municipal revenue”. Avitar Associates - Warner's assessing company - will be visiting properties starting this week (today 8/20/24) and will be around for the next couple of weeks. They will be in a white Honda CR-V vehicle with 'Avitar Associates' on both sides, they will also have a badge. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Elizabeth Labbe at Town Hall at 603-456-2298 Ext 3. If you are unsure about the visitors, you can contact the Warner Police Department at 693-456-3433 - they have the license plate numbers and names. If you are uncomfortable or don't want them there just tell them and they will leave right away.

Warner Conservation Commission Work Session

Reduced Weight Limits on Town Roads

As of April 12, the 6 ton load limit on Class V roads has been lifted. The ban remains on Class VI roads to all wheeled vehicles until further notice.

Fuel delivery trucks and emergency vehicles are excluded.

Permission to exceed the limit may be granted by contacting Tim Allen, Director of Public Works, at 603-456-3366.

The Town of Warner has an opening for a Part-Time (up to 10 hours per week +/-) Land Use Administrative Assistant to prepare for meetings, and support the public in applications for the Planning and Zoning Boards. The hourly wage range is between $18.00-22.00 depending on experience. Winter Parking Ban

The Town of Warner's Parking Ordinance is in effect and states that no vehicle may be left on any street, road, or highway in the Town of Warner between the hours of 12:00 a.m. midnight and 6:00 a.m., from November 1st until May 1st of each year. Any vehicle found to be in violation of this ban will be towed away at the owner’s expense.

Volunteer Opportunities

All Town Boards and committees consist of volunteers who reside in the Town of Warner. These volunteers work toward solving complex issues and setting and recommending policy that helps to shape the kind of community in which we live. Warner is fortunate to have many potential volunteers whose skill and technical knowledge can be applied in Town Government.

There are various opportunities available to correspond with your expertise and/or interest. Appointments to board and committee vacancies may occur throughout the year as positions become available and/or vacant. Boards and Committees which may have openings in the upcoming year are listed below:

Involuntarily Merged Lots

If you own real estate lots that were involuntarily merged by municipal action, you may be able to have those lots restored to their pre-merger status. Your property may qualify if two or more lots were merged for zoning, assessing, or taxation purposes and the merger occurred:
  • During your ownership, without your consent;
  • Prior to your ownership, if no previous owner consented to the merger.
To restore your property to pre-merger status, you must: Once restored:
  • Your properties will once again become separate lots;
  • however, they must still conform to applicable landuse ordinances.
  • Restoration does not cure non-conformity.

Preservation of Historic Barns

The preservation of historic barns over 75 years old, is encouraged by granting property tax relief within a range of 25-75% reduction in the structure’s assessment, to owners who (a) can demonstrate the public benefit of preserving their barns or other historic farm buildings, and (b) agree to maintain their structures during the minimum 10-year easement.  Information is available at nhpreservation.org and application form PA-36 https://revenue.nh.gov/forms/2017/documents/pa-36.pdf are available at the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration and must be filed on or before April 15 of the tax year the easement is to be granted.

Solar Array Exemption

For all new Solar Array Owners, you must APPLY for the solar array exemption before April 15th of any given year. You must fill out Form PA-29 found on the Department of Revenues web site or the form can be picked up at the Assessing Office in the Town Hall during office hours. You must provide a copy of the bill showing the cost of the array, the amount of the rebate from the PUC, and the amount of the tax deduction that was applied for or received. You must also include the number of panels and how many kW they produce.

The Warner Village Water District Commissioners will meet regularly on the Second and Fourth Wednesday of every month at 3:30 PM at the treatment Plant, 55 West Joppa Rd, Warner NH.

If you wish to attend a meeting of the Commissioners, and cannot arrange to come at this time, please contact the office at 603-456-1890 and we will arrange a time to meet which suits your schedule.

Building Permits

Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by the State Building Code, RSA 155-A, must obtain a Building Permit.
